Turkish Flora


Turkey has millons of kind of endemic plants which are used on medicine industry. This biodiversity was augmented on Ice Age when nothern animals were seeking warmer climates. Turkey is also on the main migratory routes of birds coming from Asia, Africa going to Europe which increase the number of species.

Turkey is regarded as an important gen center for many cultivated crops in Anatolia that is a home of wild wheat, barley, chickpeas, lentils, apricots, figs, cherries and many type of nuts. A large number of ornamental flowers were developed from original forms including most famous tulip, crocus, snowdrop and lily.

Do not forget to include especially Black Sea Region during your trip in Turkey, which has the worldwild famous honey, Ayder, made of all these endemic flowers.
